Don’t let jargon muddy the waters

Jargon is something that can plague business and organisations. At Enigin we try to remember KISS - keep it simple stupid - and that applies to way we explain things and the language we use. We try not to get too technical.

Here is some timely advice on jargon I discovered on the smallbusiness.co.uk:

Energy Saving Businesses Booming

posted by enigin in Enigin Motivation

A report by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the United States has shown the expected expansion for energy service companies (ESCOs) to be around 26% annual growth from 2009-2011 with the revenue reaching $7.1 billion. ESCOs are generally companies that provide energy saving solutions.

A large portion of their business comes from what the industry calls the MUSH market — municipal and state governments, universities, schools and hospitals. These institutions receive US federal stimulus dollars to spend on energy efficiency.

Change Your View on Strategy

I found an interesting article on the excellent Bnet website about how business leaders make mistakes when trying to accelerate strategy.

Bnet stated that research indicates that business leaders are right to be dissatisfied by the slowness ofstrategy implementation: studies show that, on average, organisations abandon 50 to 70 percent of strategies because they fail to take hold or fail to achieve the desired results in the time expected.

Why are goals important at Enigin PLC?

The above question is as relevant to you personally as it is to any organisation or business planning to succeed.  At Enigin, success is at the heart of all that we do and in many ways, passion for success throughout our ever growing distributor network is what drives us forward.  Success is everything.

Do not fool yourself into believing it isn’t.  Whether that success materialises as monetary riches or simply the living of your life in a happy fulfilled manor, any sensible person striving for something must agree that there must be a road map of certain milestones that will measure your progress toward your desired outcome!

Why do some Enigin Distributors acheive success and others do not?

You know sometimes when you have that ‘a-ha!’ moment (we have them all the time at Enigin), everyone has them from time to time, you know what I’ talking about, right!? That point in time when something makes perfect sense to you, when you fully understand what was previously  incomprehensible!

Well, the following audio message provided me with perhaps my single biggest ‘a-ha!’ moment in my life, suddenly everything around me made perfect sense. Have you planned for 2011 yet?

The year end seems to accelerate as November hits the last few days and December starts.

Here at Enigin we seem to be suddenly hit by the thought of the seasonal holidays and the start of a whole new year!

It is often a time when the future comes into sharp focus. Resolutions are made by many people as to what they wish to achieve - weight loss, fitness, self improvement and so forth.

Rally to the Call of Energy Efficiency

posted by enigin in Enigin Motivation

It’s about time we all answered the call - what call? The call to action on energy saving and efficiency.

Now you may say you are doing your bit, but is it sustained?

That is the problem for most, and I include myself in this. We get the utility bill in. at home or at work, and our eyes come out on sticks when we look at the amount we are having to pay. We immediately go round turning off lights, heaters, air-con and anything else that guzzles the power.

AS the world struggles with the financial constraints of a recession salesman find they have to work harder to win that order - a recession can make a good salesman better and a poor one disappear.

For Enigin and Enigin Distributors dealing with business people and decision makers learning these skills is vital.

Being able to get that all important sale means that you never want to waste the time that you do manage to get one-on-one with a prospect.  Hence. the solution is to ask questions that will draw out the prospect.

To help you here are six simple steps to take:

Friday Wind Down - I Wish!

posted by enigin in General

By Steve Hill

It is Friday afternoon and many people enjoy the last afternoon of a working week - though less and less as we convert to an ever increasingly constantly open 24 and 7 society - at least in the UK.

Still for most Friday afternoon brings the end of the week and a wind down to a more relaxed frame of mind - rarely for me.

I find I have as much work to do on a Friday as any other day of the week and Friday afternoon rarely offers release until I turn off the computer at the end of the day.
